The Regional
Transportation Authority Takes on TV

– In late 2007 the Regional Transportation Authority wanted to start
off the New Year in an upbeat mode, something very different to what
had been done in the past. RTA sought to focus in on education of
the rider and non-rider.
New ideas were brought forward giving life to
an outreach program called “Going
Places Together” which is also the
title for the television show to air this Saturday on the local FOX
affiliate. A total of six different shows will be produced for
2008, all covering various programs and departments within the RTA.
The first show displays personal interviews with staff, history on
one of several transit stations and encourages people to take a
second look at "The B".
Overall, the show is well put together
highlighting just the right information needed to encourage the
non-rider that public transportation is essential in our community
and fun for the entire family. The show also reinforces what the
current rider knows, but includes reminders on additional programs
available to them.
