John Longoria - City of Corpus Christi Appointee

John Longoria began his transit experience in July 1, 2004, when the City of Corpus Christi’s City Council appointed him to the Regional Transportation Authority’s Board of Directors.  Mr. Longoria’s extensive experience with city government and community involvement has been a great asset to the RTA.  John Longoria’s employment with the Lower Colorado River Authority, Government Affairs has provided opportunity for Mr. Longoria’s expansion of his community involvement.  Mr. Longoria’s community involvement and service on other Boards focus on the amelioration and enrichment for the children throughout the community.  He currently serves as School Trustee for the Corpus Christi Independent School District, the Del Mar College Foundation Trustee, as a Board Member of Big Brother Big Sister Program, serves as PTA President, the Early Childhood Development Center, served in the Corpus Christi Leadership 35 Steering Committee and actively participated as a Universal Little League Coach.  John Longoria has been recognized for his leadership role by the Small Business Administration with the Minority Advocate of the Year Award in Corpus Christi and the Rio Grande Valley in 2003. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Texas A&M University at College Station and his Master of Business Administration from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas.
