Due to Winter Storm Warning, Please Expect Delays in CCRTA Service
CORPUS CHRISTI– The National Weather Service issued a Winter Storm Warning for the
Coastal Bend Area from 12:00 a.m. until 8:00 a.m. Friday, December 8. During this time the
Corpus Christi Regional Transportation Authority (CCRTA) is preparing for possible delays in
service due to ice on freeways and bridges.
The CCRTA will be providing full service with the exception of the first trip for Route 76 at 6:20
a.m. that will be closed tomorrow, December 8. All routes that use a freeway or expressway will
be detoured onto the access road until at least 8:00 a.m. Both routes 76 and 78 will be pending
Texas Department of Transportation (TxDoT) reopening bridges and overpasses.
As of 1:00 p.m. December 7 the CCRTA began hourly bus radio announcements, alerting riders
of the hazardous road conditions, expected delays and encouraging safe travels.
Safety is always the number one priority for the CCRTA and in the event of winter weather, the
timeliness of our routes and transfer points cannot be guaranteed. The CCRTA is encouraging all
operators to drive slowly, stay alert and watch out for potential hazards.
For more information on routes and delays please visit CCRTA.org or any of the CCRTA social
media sites.
