Topic: Christina is widely consulted as an expert on topics like human trafficking, gangs, and equity policy development. Since 2013, she has educated over 1,000 people on the psychology and criminal aspects of sexual exploitation, trafficking, human rights, visas, victimology, and gangs. This includes presenting to international audiences through organizations like the National Gang Crime Research Center and the Northwest Gang Investigators Association.
Christina is an experienced equity practitioner with 16 years of direct service. She has a strong ability to build relationships and communicate complex processes to diverse audiences. Christina is passionate about growing and fostering community engagement. She holds bachelor’s degrees in Social Work and Spanish, as well as a Master’s in Public Administration. She is the owner and founder of Oak Bridge Consultants; consulting firm specializing in Organizational Leadership, Change Management, Board Development and EDI Strategic Planning and Policy Development.
Christina plays a vital part in ensuring community members have meaningful access to culturally and linguistically appropriate information. Drawing on her unique background as both a community engagement/equity professional and a juvenile probation officer, she is a noted subject matter expert on human trafficking and gangs.
Topic: Topics of discussion include commercial sexual exploitation, the impact of human trafficking locally & globally, crime trends & recruitment, victimology/complex trauma, and criminal justice & advocate collaboration.
Claire Vogelsang works with Safety Compass, supporting the community efforts against human trafficking and on behalf of survivors through her current role as the Marion County Human Trafficking Task Force Coordinator. She previously worked as a victim advocate for survivors of trafficking in Oregon, as well as supported survivors in a long-term aftercare setting in Ecuador. Claire has also facilitated support groups for survivors of domestic violence and served as a family advocate for a Head Start program. Her mission is to create a world where love and equity are paramount. With a background deeply rooted in crisis intervention, case management, facilitation, and community outreach, she is committed to making a meaningful impact through positive relationships and collaboration. She holds a bachelor’s degree in social work from George Fox University.

Topic: Explore the rise in border-related human trafficking by understanding its causes, identifying victims and perpetrators, and enhancing collaboration between local and federal authorities.
Jessica Vaughan is the Director of Policy Studies for the Center for Immigration Studies (www.cis.org), where she has worked since 1992. The Center is a research institute that examines the impact of immigration on American society and makes the case for policy reforms that serve the national interest. Jessica’s expertise is in visa programs, immigration enforcement and public safety, and state and local responses to illicit migration.
Jessica has testified before Congress dozens of times – most recently on border policy and transnational crime problems, including human trafficking. She frequently advises federal and state lawmakers on immigration issues, and conducts training for local law enforcement agencies, primarily through Northwestern University’s Center for Public Safety.
Prior to joining the Center, Mrs. Vaughan was a Foreign Service Officer with the State Department. She has a master’s degree from Georgetown University and a bachelor’s degree from Washington College in Maryland.

Patrick Overman is an Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of Texas in Corpus Christi, Texas. He currently serves as the office’s Project Safe Childhood Coordinator, a nationwide initiative led by U.S. Attorney’s offices aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse. In this role, Patrick coordinates multi-agency participation in such investigations, prosecutes numerous child exploitation offenses, and regularly provides training to law enforcement.

As the owner of Lean Tail Labs, he focuses on disaster response, counterterrorism, cybersecurity, and UAV systems. Aud’s software solutions are used by multiple relief agencies worldwide. He holds patents, has published extensively, and maintains top-secret clearance eligibility.

Topic: Alison will share vital insights and practical advice for engaging with survivors of human trafficking. This presentation is designed to empower professionals across various sectors and equip them with the tools necessary to communicate more effectively and empathetically with survivors.
Alison Johnson is the Director of Community Health Outreach at Coastal Bend Wellness Foundation. Alison earned a bachelor’s degree in Community Health from University of Texas at San Antonio and a master’s degree in Counseling with emphasis on Addictions from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. Alison is a Certified Health Education Specialist, Certified Community Health Worker, and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor.
Alison has worked in the field of public health communicable diseases programs for more than 12 years providing education and health promotion, harm reduction, street outreach and sexual health clinical services to individuals engaged in high-risk behaviors. Mrs. Johnson was integral in the creation of Red Cord back in 2013 where she has provided direct support services and counseling to victims of all forms of commercial sexual exploitation. Mrs. Johnson has established comprehensive service programs for adult victims of sex and/or labor trafficking and steered partnerships with state and local law enforcement to create a community-wide victim response system.
