Hurricane season is here, and CCRTA is a first-responder during a potential hurricane.  Please review this page to learn more about how CCRTA can evacuate individuals and their families before a hurricane makes landfall.

You can sign up for alerts on incoming severe weather and other important information through the City and County’s Reverse Alert notification system.

To sign up for automatic text message alerts, text BEREADYCCNC to 888777.

You can also sign up for alerts online at www.cctexas.com/alertsignup.

Evacuation Guidelines

Once an Evacuation Order is Given by the City or County Emergency Management Offices (EMO):

  • Fares are suspended, evacuees may travel for free
  • Evacuees are then transported to a nearby evacuation center from the nearest transfer station
  • Additional paratransit resources will be provided to evacuate individuals with disabilities

Transportation of evacuees will continue until wind speeds become greater than 35 miles per hour or water levels becoming unsafe (flooding).

Rider Tips:

  • Riders are encouraged to bring essential items, luggage, and/or pets
  • All pets must be placed in carriers
