Ride the “B” to Vote

Corpus Christi Regional Transportation Authority  (CCRTA) announces fare-free “Ride the B to Vote” during primary voting on Tuesday, March 3, 2020. No proof of voter registration or destination is required to ride free on March 3, 2020.

The complimentary rides will be available on all CCRTA’s services; fixed-routes, B-Line Paratransit (ADA) services, EXPRESS routes, FLEX,  and includes on-demand taxi service provided by REAL and Paisano. Below is a list of voting poll locations and the services available to reach your destination. Click here to view the polling location list as posted by Nueces County.

If a customer is unable to use fixed-route bus service, CCRTA will provide complementary ADA services through our B-Line Paratransit provider.

B-Line Paratransit (ADA) services going to a polling station will be available up until 6:00PM, one hour prior to primary polls closing at 7:00PM. However, return trips are available after the close of polling stations.

FAQ

I’ve never taken a bus? How do I know which bus to take to the nearest voting poll?
Click on the drop down menu on the “Ride the ‘B’ to Vote” webpage for voting locations with fixed-routes information or call customer service (361)883-2287 for detailed information.

How do I get a free ride to a voting poll if I am affected by disabilities?
All CCRTA transportation is equipped with ramps and wheelchair lifts. However, if you are unable to get to a bus stop, please call (361)903-3596 to schedule a ride.

Will I need voter identification or proof of registration to ride the bus for free?
No, CCRTA will not request proof of voter registration or destination to ride free on March 3, 2020.

How do I schedule a bus for a family member who is affected by disabilites? 
Contact CCRTA at (361)-903-3596 to schedule a shared ride through our B-Line Paratransit service.

Please note we are accommodating multiple riders to the polls and wait times could vary (up to an hour). We will make every effort to pick up riders in a timely manner.

Will the ADA shuttle bus pick me up from the polling location after I vote?
Yes, once you have completed voting, call (361)903-3596 to schedule a pickup. Please be patient as we will be accommodating multiple riders and it is a shared ride service.

During peak times, it could take up to two hours before the bus arrives to pick up riders. We will make every effort to pick up riders in a timely manner.
