Alison Johnson is the Director of Community Health Outreach at Coastal Bend Wellness Foundation.  Alison earned a bachelor’s degree in Community Health from University of Texas at San Antonio and a master’s degree in Counseling with emphasis on Addictions from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. Alison is a Certified Health Education Specialist, Certified Community Health Worker, and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor.  Alison has worked in the field of public health communicable diseases programs for more than 12 years providing education and health promotion, harm reduction, street outreach and sexual health clinical services to individuals engaged in high-risk behaviors. Mrs. Johnson was integral in the creation of Red Cord back in 2013 where she has provided direct support services and counseling to victims of all forms of commercial sexual exploitation. Mrs. Johnson has established comprehensive service programs for adult victims of sex and/or labor trafficking and steered partnerships with state and local law enforcement to create a community-wide victim response system.
