What is B-Line Paratransit?

B-Line Paratransit (B-Line) is a shared public transportation service for individuals with disabilities who are prevented from using regular, accessible fixed-route services.

B-Line offers origin-to-destination transportation for riders who meet eligibility criteria under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) guidelines.

Individuals with disabilities who are not prevented from using fixed-route bus services may not qualify for B-Line service.

How Do I Apply for B-Line?

Persons with a disability that prevents them from using our fixed route system must submit an application and participate in an in-person interview and assessment. After completing the assessment process, each applicant will be notified by mail within 21 days regarding eligibility for B-Line service.

How to Schedule Trips

Once determined eligible by the CCRTA Eligibility Process, certified riders can schedule B-Line trips up to 3 days in advance.

For best results, riders should schedule at least 2 days in advance; Scheduling only one day ahead of travel is an option, but this may result in the negotiation of a time which could be up to an hour before or an hour after the rider’s requested time.

Booking Hours

The act of scheduling your trip can be performed in the following windows of time:

  • Monday – Friday: 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Saturday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Sunday: 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Transit Service Hours

Transportation via the B-Line is available in the following windows of time:

  • Monday – Saturday: 5:00 AM – 11:00 PM
  • Sunday: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM

Schedule Trips by Phone

Certified B-Line riders, in addition to using the B-Line Mobile App, can call our staff to set up, cancel, and track trips.

For Scheduling Calls, Please Have Your Information Ready

If you are making a reservation, the B-Line Reservations Staff will ask for the following Information:

  • ID number
  • Your name
  • Date of trip
  • Address where you want to go
  • Time you need to arrive at your appointment or a requested pickup time (it is recommended you schedule your pickup time an hour and a half prior to your appointment time; two hours ahead if your destination is more than 15 miles away from your pickup location)
  • Time you need to be picked up from your appointment or a requested return time
  • The type of mobility device you will be using for that trip

How Much Does it Cost?

Base Fare - $1.25

Per the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the base fare applies within what is called the ADA 3/4 mile zone -- basically all trips within 3/4 mile of fixed bus routes or rail stations. 

Surcharge - $2.00

For trips that go beyond the ADA 3/4 mile zone, as described above, there is an additional service charge of $2.00. Raising the total cost of fare and surcharge for B-Line trips outside the ADA 3/4 mile zone to $3.25 per passenger per trip.

No-Shows & Late Cancellations

The Corpus Christi Regional Transportation Authority (CCRTA) No-Show/Late Cancellation Policy is intended to preserve service quality for all paratransit riders. Excessive no-shows/late cancellations that are within a rider’s control negatively impact on-time performance and service quality for other riders.

Riders with excessive no-shows/late cancellations may risk suspension of their access to paratransit services.
