Youth Education

The CCRTA Youth Educational Program is designed to introduce students to the benefits of public transportation.

Answering Young People's Questions

CCRTA Staff Is Prepared To Answer Questions Such As

  • How much does a bus weigh?
  • How many passengers can a CCRTA bus carry?
  • How much gas does a CCRTA bus hold, and how much does it consume in a day?

Of course, we can alter our presentation to your current curriculum. Let us know what you are studying or what you would like for CCRTA to discuss.

Trip Planning Assistance

Your class may be interested in taking a bus ride on one of CCRTA’s fixed-route services. Call the CCRTA, and we will plan your trip on one of the closest bus routes that service your community or school. A hands-on experience will cover topics such as public shared transportation and its benefits, how to safely wait at a CCRTA bus stop, how to board/exit and seating instructions, the importance of practicing safety habits, as well as proper etiquette when riding the ‘B.’

Please submit your request in writing at least seven (7) to ten (10) days in advance. Please allow CCRTA staff enough time to communicate with all parties involved to make your experience on the ‘B’ fantastic.

Classroom Presentation

A CCRTA representative will visit your classroom and provide students with a 10 to 15-minute presentation on the history of public transportation, transportation in Corpus Christi, and how transportation impacts our environment, bus safety tips, or a career in public transportation. Staff can also tailor the presentation to any special topic.

Please submit your request in writing at least two weeks in advance. Please allow CCRTA staff enough time to communicate with all parties involved to make your ‘B’ experience wonderful.
