CCRTA Rider Rules ensure the safety and security of all individuals using our buses and facilities.
CCRTA Rider Rules
The Rules
- Shirts and shoes are required.
- No profanity, disruptive, or threatening behavior.
- Use headphones when listening to radio or audio device.
- Turn off cell phone ringers and speak at a low volume.
- No food or drink is allowed on CCRTA vehicles unless in closed, spill-proof containers.
- Smoking or chewing tobacco in any form, including electronic cigarettes or vaporizers, is not allowed on CCRTA platforms, at CCRTA bus stops, or inside CCRTA vehicles or facilities.
- Passenger stops are only permitted at designated bus stops.
- Keep hands and feet out of the aisle when riders are boarding or existing, especially those with wheelchairs or walkers.
- Service animals are allowed on CCRTA vehicles. Non-service animals, comfort animals and pets, are also allowed, but must be in a pet carrier specifically designed to transport animals. The carrier may not be opened on the bus, must be leak-proof and well ventilated, and be small enough to fit on the owner’s lap or on the floor space in the immediate area of the owner without blocking the aisle.
- Seating areas at the front of the bus are intended for persons with disabilities or persons requiring assistance boarding and exiting the bus.
- A responsible older individual must accompany children under six years of age.
- Strollers may be carried on the bus only when folded, secured, and out of the aisle pathway/
- No unauthorized use of a CCRTA facility or property for non-transportation related purposes.
- No unauthorized presence on a CCRTA vehicle, facility, or property after hours of operation.
- CCRTA does not allow unlawfully carried handguns, weapons, or any other items intended for use as a weapon in or on any CCRTA facility or vehicle.
- Explosives, car batteries, flammable liquids, or other materials considered hazardous by the U.S. Department of Transportation are not allowed in or on any CCRTA facility or vehicle, except as authorized by CCRTA.
- Any unusual packages or suspicious activity should be reported to authorities or CCRTA personnel immediately.
