CCRTA is excited to bring back the fare-free Downtown Dasher, offering easy rides from the Staples Street Center to see some of downtown’s most festive holiday hotspots, including the holiday trees at Artesian Park, the sparkling lights along Peppermint Lane, and the H-E-B Christmas tree at Waters Edge Park.
Downtown Dasher Returns for the Holidays!
Kickoff Day – Saturday, December 6
Celebrate the season at the H-E-B Christmas Tree Lighting from 4:00–9:00 PM, featuring live entertainment and festive cheer!
The Downtown Dasher will start fare-free shuttle service from the area in front of City Hall along Staples Street at 4 PM and run until 9 PM, offering a free, twinkling ride through downtown’s holiday lights on the way.
- Note: This is the only day the Downtown Dasher will be making a stop along the route to serve the H-E-B Christmas Tree Lighting event.

Service Details:
- Fare-FREE for all riders
- Runs every 20–30 minutes (depending on traffic)
- Pick-up/Drop-off: Special stop in front of City Hall, along Staples Street.
- Parking: Visitor parking on Waco St. off Leopard St.
- Note: The Downtown Dasher will not make stops along the tour.
