Characteristics of Peas

Peas are legumes. They are also green. Peas are on the soft side when eaten fresh off the plant, and squooshy when cooked.

Carrots

Characteristics of Carrots

  • Carrots are root vegetables.
  • The green tops that grow above ground are edible, but the long, conic roots are what we think of when we discuss carrots as a food.
  • They are usually orange but can come in a variety of colors, and are crunchy and sweet, with a distinctive flavor.

Radishes

There are many types of radishes, but we will be discussing the cherry belle radish, which is round with white flesh and, usually, red skin. Radishes are crunchy, much like carrots, but unlike peas.
