Fare Review

A comprehensive evaluation of the Corpus Christi Regional Transportation Authority (CCRTA) existing fare structures and policies was completed in 2016 by an independent consulting service.  On September 4th, 2019, the CCRTA Board of Directors approved the Independent Fare Equity Analysis findings, which recommended a fare adjustment.

CCRTA’s base fares are considered the lowest in the United States. The last change in fare was in 2006 ($0.50 to $0.75 base fare). In the nearly 20 years since then, the CCRTA has been affected by rising costs and inflation, which has limited increases in services and/or rider amenities.

As fares begin to rise in 2026, the costs of passes relative to the base fare will get lower and remain at improved ratios through 2030. Explicit information on pass costs relative to their relevant base fares can be found in the tables in the following sections, organized by year. In the case of the B-Line Regular 31-Day Pass, a significant improvement in cost ratio is proposed for 2026, with incremental improvments to follow with each proposed change thereafter.

CCRTA last changed the base fare in 2006 (from $0.50 to $0.75). The fare of $0.75 entering 2025 is considered the lowest in the United States.
